How to prevent injuries before they happen 

You need to understand the injury prone areas in your body and look after them before they get injured. 


You could be prone in injuring a certain area of your body if:

• You've had an old injury in the area 

• You get stiffness and soreness in a particular joint 

• You feel you are losing the ability to perform a certain task or to acquire a certain position such as kneeling

Box Jump

Here, Al performs a correct box jump (deep squat at landing for low impact on knees and back) and then a box jump with incorrect form (a shallow squat at landing which causes high impact on knees and back).

Twist Box Jump

Watch Al perform a correct twist box jump (twist in the air prior to landing) followed by an incorrect twist box jump where he twists on landing which can cause knee injuries.

A few tips to help prevent injuries

Warm up - To increase blood circulation and mild-body awareness 


Regular stretching - To improve flexibility and resilience


Coaching - To learn the correct form and technique required for your type of training/sport and   getting the right strength and conditioning program to improve your soft tissue tolerance 

We have designed a full body injury prevention assessment to identify your injury prone areas and implement a “prevention” program specifically tailored for you.


Fortunately, The Northern Beaches has become more and more active especially with all the sporting activities in Narrabeen and Collaroy area all the way to our lovely Dee Why, Freshwater and Manly.  But the only downside is the susceptibility of injury comes with the level of physical demand.


Our injury prevention program solves this problem and allows you to look after yourself in a much more productive way.

Deadlifts

John shows how to perform a deadlift correctly by maintaining the natural curve in the lower back rather than losing the curve and increasing the likelihood of back injury.
