Physio in Dee Why
Hi, my name is Al. My philosophy in Physio is to focus on what I can do for you. It's about utilising my knowledge and experience to address your issue by learning about you, your goals and your lifestyle. It all helps me design a pathway to recovery as well as better quality of life for you.
I graduated in 2000 and the excitement of helping improve my patients' quality of life has not lost its power one bit.
My area of interest is spinal management, especially chronic and ongoing cases.
I believe a comfortable, active and customised plan can make even the most complex cases manageable.

Physio in Dee Why
“As a Physio, I love to make people feel good, and I believe that everyone has the capacity to feel good within themselves, no matter what life is throwing at them the day they walk into our clinic”.
John has over 7 years of Physiotherapy experience including working with a variety of athletes and sporting teams across many different codes. John has also played semi-professional rugby for a number of years, and so understands the demands of high-level sport.
John also has experience working in rehabilitation and post-operative settings with patients ranging from joint replacements to spinal cord injury.
As a local growing up on the Northern beaches of Sydney, John also appreciates the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and quality of life. Whether that’s simply being able to do the grocery shopping comfortably or running in the Pub to Pub.
Whatever your goal is in relation to your injury or condition (i.e. what you’re not able to do due to having this injury), John will be able to guide you and ensure that you are doing everything in your power to achieve it.
Although many injuries and conditions are the same, it doesn’t necessarily mean that they will recover in the same way. In other words, one type of treatment that worked for one person may not work for the next. John will often use a combination of treatment modalities based off a client’s history and previous experiences with practitioners to get the best possible results. These might include soft tissue massage and trigger point releases, joint mobilisations, specific corrective and strengthening exercises as well as dry needling.

Physio in Dee Why
Hey, my name is Tom, one of the Physio here at Team8. You can find me both in our Fitness First and Dee Why Parade clinics.
I started out in this field as an Exercise Physiologist for a number of years, then completed a Doctor of Physiotherapy. Combining the two has really shaped my approach to injuries. A mixture of "hands on" and exercise therapy is a fantastic way to fix injuries. I believe that digging deep and finding the "cause" of an injury is the level of care you deserve. I know this will keep the people of the Northern Beaches doing what they love!
During my time, I have developed a passion for treating wrestlers/grapplers and surfers. Having competed in wrestling and sustaining my fair share of shoulder and neck injuries, I know how much it affects training and quality of life. All this said, I get just as much enjoyment in treating athletes as I do seniors.
Major injury or minor niggle, I'm there for you along your journey.

Cath continues to enjoy the accurate assessment and treatment of sports injuries, acute and chronic neck and back pain including the Sarah Key method. She has also added the teaching and use of Pilates techniques. Cath has combined her vast clinical experience, knowledge and teaching skills into the development of our unique Physiotherapist instructed small group Clinical Pilates/Core Stability classes.

Alex completed a Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science at the Australian Catholic University (ACU) before successfully completing his Masters in Physiotherapy at the University of Sydney (USYD).
Throughout his studies, Alex played rugby union professionally with the Australian rugby 7s squad before being contracted overseas to join La Rochelle in the Top14 and then later joined Edinburgh rugby in the Pro12. After 16 years of rugby and sustaining many injuries, Alex hung up the boots and turned to his focus to physiotherapy.
Alex spent many years playing for the Manly Marlins and has always been a passionate sportsman. From sustaining a number of injuries of his own, he can empathise and personally understand the struggle to overcome injuries. Having played with many professional clubs and working with high-level physiotherapists around the world, Alex has a diverse and strong rehab skill set to get you back performing at your highest level. He is especially interested in acute muscle injuries, tendinopathies and injuries to the hip and groin.
He has always loved helping people and following along with others’ journeys to help them get back to their best. His approach is caring and always very tailored toward your goals. Alex wants to be the person you think of when you or your family gets an injury, and you need someone that will be there for you.
When Alex isn’t working, he is getting outside to exercise, reading a good fiction book, and catching up with friends and family.

Hi! I'm Bev. I'm one of the physios here at Team8 Physio. I completed my Bachelor of Physiotherapy degree at The University of Queensland. During my studies in Brisbane, I gained a strong appreciation of the complexity of the human body and ways that physios can assist in restoring better movement and resultant quality of life. I have completed my placements in Brisbane hospitals and private practice centres and have treated a wide variety of cases including musculoskeletal, neurology, cardiorespiratory and orthopaedics (post-op procedures). I would love to work with you in getting back to your goals, whether sport-specific, work-related or life in general with more pain-free movement! When I am not working, you'll find me spending time with family and friends, at Fitness First Willoughby or exploring different avenues of holistic health. Feel free to come in and have a chat. I'd love to get to know you :)
Riley completed his 4-year Bachelor of Physiotherapy degree at the Australian Catholic University (ACU), being awarded the Clinical Excellence award for 2022. Riley is an active member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA) and accredited ASCA Level 1 Strength Coach and continues to develop his strong interest in treating and managing sporting and gym-based injuries.
Riley has grown up and still resides on the Northern Beaches. When Riley is not in the clinic you will find him at his local gym (weight training), playing golf, indulging in fine foods around the beaches and spending time with his close family and friends.
Riley has a range of experience in both acute and rehab hospital settings, working with neurological, orthopaedic and post-surgical patients, giving him an appreciation of the human body and not only the physical but psychological impact Physiotherapy provides. He has also had extensive experience working with Manly United Football Club, where he managed and triaged acute and chronic injuries. Through working closely with these athletes Riley developed his ability to create and fine tune Strength and Conditioning programs to meet the goals of each and every player.
Riley has a special interest in treating acute and chronic sporting injuries, in particular knee, hip and groin related injuries. Riley uses a variety of techniques to help improve function and decrease pain, including exercise prescription, manual therapy, biomechanical analysis and patient education around their injury. As a whole his main interests are getting his patients back to what they love doing and reaching their goals.
